# Ni-To (二刀流

How would you attack against gyaku 2-tou-ryu (逆二刀流)? www.kfbctampa.org/Korean/Photo2005/Feb/kendo/kendo1/IMG_2600.jpg
(Ans 1) I have been thinking about this for some time. His men is totally covered. It leaves his kote (both left and right), his do and and the tsuki target open. His right kote is difficult as is faces away from you and is far with the maai. His left kote (the shoutou one) is also somewhat protected as he holds the shoutou tilted upwards. This really leaves his tsuki and do. Both are difficult.
I think they are good options against nitouryu. However, best is to upgarde your own chudan no kamae. Your kensen shouldn't be pointed at the tsuki, but much higher to protect your kote and to defend against the parry from the shoutou. The also reduces the time to protect against Ito's men attack. I think that if he fails at his shoutou parry, it may be a good chance for debana men!
(Ans 2) I know that when I fight him I find him at a dissadvantage when I go to a low kamae. I tried Jodan but this was not effective enough against him, probably because he does do oji type of fighting instead of offinsive. I find it easiest if I go to a low kamae (not all the way to Geadan) then slide it in under his shoto then swing to a saya doh. This way he is not seeing what I am trying to accomplish until to late. I think that his type of fighting would prob. actually serve him better if he were to switch the long and short swords. Would be harder to weild but nothing that a few million subruri would not fix. But this is only my observations.
